Children's Book Council of Australia. Each year, many, & public libraries from all over Australia spend a week celebrating books & Australian authors & Illustrators. Many people develop activities, offer competitions, and tell stories relating to a theme to highlight the importance of reading.
On this day in particular its all about wearing your best bedtime attire to help the Pyjama Foundation raise much needed awareness and funds for vulnerable children in the foster care & Crazy hair day for CFV.
Celebration of Yoga, a physical, mental & spiritual practice, aims too integrate the body and the mind. Today the children will be asked to participate in Yoga to celebrate our International Day of Yoga.
A celebration honouring ones own mother, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. Children will be participating in a joint event at Deakin reserve where we ask the mothers that have the time to come and have a picnic with the children do so.
ANZAC day is a national day which commemorates the anniversary of the landing on Gallipoli in 1915. The children will participate in making anzac biscuits in the room & also have the opportunity to participate in Anzac day themed arts & crafts.
The children will participate in many arts & crafts regarding easter in the days leading to Easter Day. They will have the opportunity to make a bonnet to wear to the Deakin Reserve Easter Excursion, where we celebrate Easter with other centres in the community.
Earth Hour is a hour-long event held around the world that encorages individuals and businesses to set aside an hour in which they switch off their lights and other items that use electricity. This is to raise awareness about action for climate change.
